About the village Prodromos
Prodromos is named after John the Baptist, called Prodromos (the Forerunner) in the Orthodox tradition. Snow can lie a metre deep and cover the village for weeks, and the Troodos ski centre is a short drive away.
Only about 120 people live here all year, but summer houses fill up in July and August. Hikers stop for lunch or coffee in its tavernas after the nature trails, and there is a campsite, Kambi tou Kalogerou, nearby.
