Moutoullas is a small mountain village between Pedoulas and Kalopanagiotis whose chapel of Panagia tou Moutoulla is one of the earliest steep-roofed painted churches in Cyprus.

About the village Moutoullas

Moutoullas lies at about 800 metres in the Marathasa valley and had fewer than 200 residents in 2011. Its old chapel, Panagia tou Moutoulla, was built around 1280 and is one of the earliest dated examples of the steep, wooden-roofed churches typical of Troodos.

The chapel’s frescoes are part of the UNESCO World Heritage listing of the ten Painted Churches in the Troodos Region.
