About the village Pedoulas
Pedoulas sits at 1,100 metres at the head of the Marathasa valley, surrounded by orchards. It has twelve churches, from a 15th-century chapel to the big Holy Cross church of the 1930s, and a 25-metre cross stands on the hill above.
The village is best known for its cherries and cherry products, and for the 1474 church of Archangelos Michael with its outstanding frescoes. Its natural spring is said to hold the key to a long life, so many visitors stop to drink.
