About the village Tochni
Tochni lies about 36 km south-west of Larnaca, next to Choirokoitia, and is one of the oldest villages on the island. The houses are built of Tochni stone, quarried nearby, and many have been restored for agrotourism.
The church of Saints Constantine and Helena stands on the site of one said to have been founded by St Helena, returning from the Holy Land with a piece of the True Cross. Tochni had a mixed population until 1974, and its mosque and the ruins of a Latin church remain.
