About the village Kato Drys
Kato Drys means “lower oak”. It has existed since the Byzantine period and was the birthplace of Saint Neophytos in 1134; the house where he was born still stands. The village appears on the old Cyprus one-pound note.
It grows grapes, citrus, almonds, olives and carobs, and Lefkara lace is also made here. Narrow valleys and the Agios Minas river surround it.
