About the village Monagri
Monagri’s name means a small monastery estate, from moni (monastery) and agri (small field): it started as a dependency of a monastery in the Byzantine era. In the Frankish period it was a fief, held between 1464 and 1468 by Polo Konnem.
The village lies in the Krasochoria, surrounded by vineyards, citrus, carob, almond and olive trees. It is quiet and best enjoyed slowly, combined with Lania, Silikou and Doros nearby.
