About the village Louvaras
Under Frankish rule Louvaras belonged to the Grand Commandery of the Knights Hospitaller at Kolossi, and Commandaria production here dates back to that time. The wine is made from the local Xynisteri (white) and Mavro (red) grapes.
The village keeps its stone houses with wooden balconies and lofts. A restored olive press stands near the church, and the Kakomallis picnic site is 6 km away.
