Visiting Tombs of the Kings
Come for the architecture of the rock-cut burial complexes and the contrast between open ground and sunken courtyards. Plan this as its own visit, with comfortable footwear and enough time to look closely.

North of Kato Paphos harbour.
1½–2 hours for an unhurried visit. This is an editorial allowance, excluding travel.
Some tomb interiors require stairs; above-ground viewing is a different experience.
What to look for

Courtyards and rock-cut chambers
Look at how the burial complexes were carved into the rock and arranged around courtyards. Use the on-site interpretation to distinguish the different complexes rather than treating every chamber as identical.
Plan your visit
Understand the name
The monumental tombs are associated with high-status burials, despite their royal-sounding name. Let the architecture and interpretation lead the visit; the title alone does not explain who was buried in each complex.
Choose your level of access
The Department of Antiquities describes wheelchair access to the ticket area and above-ground views. Descending into chambers is different. Confirm current arrangements for your needs, and choose above-ground viewing if stairs or uneven footing are unsuitable.
Plan around the conditions
Allow for exposed outdoor walking, with water and sun protection. Check admission, closure notices and return travel before arrival. You can pair the visit with the harbour later, but it requires a separate journey.
Getting there: choose your transport
Bus
Use the Pafos Buses map for the Tombs of the Kings area. Route 611 links its station with the harbour; route 615 links the station with Coral Bay. Verify the stop nearest the archaeological entrance and the remaining walk rather than selecting the station by name alone.

Specify the Tombs of the Kings archaeological entrance, not the bus station. Agree your pickup point and fare before leaving; a driver waiting throughout the visit is a separate arrangement.
Rental car
Set directions for the archaeological visitor entrance and follow signed parking access. Allow for the remaining walk and check local restrictions. Do not substitute the bus station location for the attraction entrance.

Questions about your visit
Can I visit without descending into the tombs?
Above-ground viewing is an option. The Department of Antiquities distinguishes that access from entering the sunken interiors; confirm the current accessible route before travel.
Can I walk straight here from inside the harbour park?
No. This is a separate visitor site and needs its own approach.
