History and archaeology in Paphos
Paphos offers several different archaeology visits. Choose mosaics and ancient town remains by the harbour, rock-cut burial architecture farther north, or a shorter castle stop. You can enjoy one site properly without turning your day into a checklist.

Kato Paphos and the Tombs of the Kings area.
Half a day for one major site and a harbour break. This is an editorial allowance, excluding travel.
The archaeological park and Tombs of the Kings have separate entrances.
Choose your history visit

Archaeological Park
Start here for Roman mosaics and the remains of the ancient town. Make the mosaics your priority, then extend the visit outdoors according to the weather and your energy.

Tombs of the Kings
Choose this separate site for rock-cut tomb complexes and courtyard architecture. It offers a different experience from the harbour mosaics; allow for the transfer and the outdoor terrain.

Paphos Castle
Consider the castle as a shorter harbour-side heritage stop. Check admission arrangements separately; a walk around the harbour does not require you to visit every ticketed attraction.
Plan your visit
A harbour-focused half-day
Visit the archaeological park first, pause for food or shade by the harbour, then decide whether to add the castle. This keeps your outing in one area and leaves time to appreciate the mosaics rather than rushing between entrances.
Adding a second major site
Tombs of the Kings is a separate outing north of the harbour. Check its current closing arrangements and your onward transport before buying a second admission. On a hot day, choosing one site well is a sensible alternative.
Entry and walking
Consult the regional tourism listings for current admission and opening arrangements. Outdoor paths, stairs and uneven surfaces vary across the sites. Ask about the particular areas you want to reach if you need a step-free visit.
Getting there: choose your transport
Bus
Pafos Buses lists route 611 between Tombs of the Kings Station, the harbour and Geroskipou Beach. Use the current route map to choose the entrance-side stop and confirm your return. A station named after a monument is not the monument entrance.

For the park, request its harbour-side visitor entrance. If continuing to Tombs of the Kings, agree a separate transfer and return pickup rather than asking for a generic Paphos sightseeing drop-off.
Rental car
Choose parking for the harbour visit, then plan the separate drive to Tombs of the Kings if wanted. Follow local parking signs and allow time to walk to the entrance; this guide does not guarantee parking availability or a shared admission ticket.

Questions about your visit
Do I need to visit both major sites?
No. Choose the park for mosaics and ancient town remains, or Tombs of the Kings for burial architecture. Adding both needs extra travel and walking time.
Are the two sites at the same entrance?
No. Set directions and transport for each visitor entrance separately.
