About Athalassa National Forest Park
Athalassa covers about 840 hectares of pine woodland south-east of the city centre, which makes it Nicosia’s biggest green area. Families come for the lake, where children can watch ducks and other water birds, and for the network of walking and cycling lanes that loop through the trees.
There is a children’s playground, picnic areas, sports grounds, a bird observation point, a botanical garden and a kiosk. The Athalassa Visitor Centre near the Keryneias Avenue side adds a small geological exhibition and film theatre on weekdays.
