About the village Vasa Koilaniou
Vasa is one of the Troodos wine villages, famous since ancient times for its vineyards. Its name comes from the ancient Greek bassa, a wooded valley, and may link to Arcadian settlers: an ancient sanctuary of Apollo has been found in the village.
Most of its land is still covered in vines, and raisins are an important product. Paved streets, limestone houses and old viticultural equipment make it a pleasant, uncrowded alternative to Omodos, 4 km away.
