About the village Lysos

Lysos lies about 36 km north-east of Paphos, and legends of the medieval hero Digenis are still told here. Rock-cut tombs and Geometric pottery found nearby support the idea of ancient Greek settlers.

Its land reaches the peaks of Paphos Forest. The main church, Panagia Chryseleousa, built around 1500, may first have been a Latin church, as its doors carry coats of arms.
