About the village Ineia
Ineia’s name probably comes from oinos, the ancient Greek for wine; old signs call it Oinia. In 1350 the Knights Hospitaller owned a vineyard here that produced Commandaria.
The village still grows wine grapes and keeps up traditional basket weaving, shown in its museum. The views make it popular for walks and photography. The Laona plateau villages sit above the Akamas peninsula and are linked by the Laona–Akamas wine route.
