Walking the Artemis trail
Artemis is a marked circular walk near the upper Troodos mountain area. Plan around the trailhead, weather and the full loop rather than adding it casually to a village sightseeing day.

Near Chionistra in the Troodos forest.
A half-day allowance for the walk, breaks and approach. This is an editorial allowance, excluding travel.
The official start is near the Chionistra road junction, not Troodos Square.
Know the route before arriving

A high-altitude circular walk
Use the marked Artemis route for a focused mountain outing. The official trail reference places its start at about 1,835 metres, so prepare for mountain conditions even if your accommodation is warm.
Marked trails to consider

Plan your visit
Allow more than the published walking estimate
The official estimate covers the seven-kilometre trail. Add time for arrival, any stop-to-trailhead approach, photographs and breaks. Check the trail signage before starting and avoid a return connection that depends on finishing at the fastest estimate.
Check weather and access
Review current mountain weather and official closures before travel. Take layers, water and suitable shoes. Do not start a full loop if snow, ice, poor visibility or the conditions underfoot are beyond your equipment or experience.
Keep the route clear
Follow marked paths and keep the starting point recorded for your return. A circular trail is not automatically flat or step-free. Choose a shorter outing elsewhere if the distance or terrain is unsuitable for your group.
Getting there: choose your transport
Bus
EMEL lists the Limassol–Troodos route 64. It does not establish a stop at the Artemis trailhead. Confirm the final approach or arrange a transfer from the actual arrival stop; if that cannot be established, choose another outing. Check your return before starting the loop.
Check a bus journeyChoose the matching place in the planner. No stop or entrance has been automatically selected.Taxi
Give the driver the official Artemis starting point and agree a pickup at the same trailhead after the loop. Confirm fare, waiting arrangements and a plan if the walk takes longer than expected.
Rental car
Set directions for the marked trail starting point and follow signed parking. Check road and weather conditions before travel. The destination query needs confirmation; it is not a verified parking coordinate.
