About Larnaca Salt Lake flamingos
Larnaca Salt Lake is a protected wetland right next to the town. In winter it fills with water and draws thousands of migrating birds, most famously greater flamingos.
Paths run along parts of the shore, and the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque sits among palm trees on the western bank. Binoculars make the visit much better for children.
