Choose your setting

Lively Nissi, a choice of Makronissos bays, or Konnos with a nearby walk.

Suggested visit

Allow 2–4 hours for one beach, or make it a full beach day. This is an editorial allowance.

Plan the approach

Check the entrance and remaining walk, especially for Konnos and mobility needs.

Nissi Beach: a lively beach day

Choose Nissi for an active beach scene and the distinctive islet view. Beach bars and activities make the atmosphere part of the visit. The tourism authority lists toilets, changing facilities, loungers, umbrellas and water sports.

Makronissos: neighbouring sandy bays

Consider Makronissos when you want a choice of adjoining bays. The official listing describes three bays, beach facilities and nearby ancient tombs. Choose the particular bay and entrance before setting directions.

Plan your visit

Choose one coast for the day

Nissi and Makronissos work as western-beach choices. Konnos is a separate outing towards Cape Greco. Choose one main beach rather than spending the day travelling between every option.

Two more alternatives

Landa is worth considering for the western coastal path and picnic setting. Vathia Gonia is another sandy bay; its tourism listing describes assisted sea access. Confirm equipment availability and the specific entrance before relying on it.

Facilities and access

Facilities in the official listings are a starting point; seasonal availability may vary. Nissi’s disabled-access description does not establish that every entrance or stretch of sand is step-free. Ask about the exact approach, toilets and sea access you need.

Season and beach conditions

The official beach pages describe an April–October lifeguard season. Follow the posted arrangements and flags on the day. A sheltered bay or shallow water does not guarantee suitable swimming conditions.

Getting there: choose your transport

Bus

OSEA route 201 serves the western beach corridor, including Nissi, Landa and Makronissos. Routes 101/102 serve the Ayia Napa–Konnos–Protaras corridor in opposite directions. Choose the beach first, then check the correct stop, remaining walk and return departure. The timetable checked covers 25 May–31 October 2026; consult OSEA for your travel date.

Taxi

Tell the driver the beach and entrance you want. Agree the fare, return pickup point and whether waiting is included before leaving. At Konnos, clarify the drop-off point and remaining descent rather than requesting only a general bay location.

Rental car

The tourism authority lists parking at Nissi, Makronissos and Konnos. Follow signed access and allow for the walk from your parking place. Spaces and tariffs have not been verified. Konnos requires particular attention to the approach between the road and the bay.

Questions about your visit

Which beach should I choose?

Start with Nissi for a lively setting, Makronissos for a choice of adjoining bays, or Konnos to combine a beach with nearby coastal scenery. Then compare the approach and transport from your accommodation.

Can I visit without a rental car?

The OSEA network serves the western beach corridor and the Konnos corridor. Check a journey for your date, the final approach and the return service. A bus stop named after a beach is not necessarily at the water’s edge.

Should I visit all three in one day?

For a relaxed beach day, choose one main stop. Konnos sits on a different corridor from the western beaches; combining every beach adds travel and leaves less time at each.
